Each Organization has a Message Sender that can configure emails (to be sent immediately or scheduled for a future date). The Message Sender has several options, including Audience, Date Range and Age Range filters, and a Custom Categories filter.
How To Use Custom Categories to Filter Audience
1. Message Sender: Custom Categories Match
The “Custom Categories” section of the Message Sender allows Organizations to filter the “All” audience, to:
filter the selected audience down to users who have those tags selected in their user profile
*NOTE: This filter is only available when selecting the All audience.
The significance of this is that it provides another way to segment the Message Sender audience - via user profile tags/categories, versus tags/categories on the Opportunities.
Again, this applies only to the “All - All users in this Organization” audience. For all other audiences that have the “Custom Categories” filter, including the three “Opportunity Participants” variations, the filter will not behave in this manner.
2. Message Sender: Partner Organizations
A “Partner Organization” filter is available in the Message Sender that allows narrowing the selected audience to those who have served with specific Partner Organizations:
This “Partner Organization” filter is visible for the following Audiences:
All - All users in this Organization.
Opportunity Participants - All users who have registered for an event.
Opportunity Participants With Account - All users who have a ServiceReef account and have registered for an event
Opportunity Participants Without Account - All users who have registered for an event that don't have an account
*NOTE: This filter will only show if the Organization has at least one Partner Organization.
If one or more Partner Organizations has been selected in this filter, the email communication will only be sent to users who are in Approved or Awaiting Approval statuses on an Opportunity of the selected Partner Organization(s).
