Sharing Stories-Opportunity

Encouraging participants to post stories is a helpful way to engage and share the work that God has called your organization to do. This can be a powerful tool to use to share with others what you have done.

Here, we will walk through the process on how to post a story as a participant.

First, you will need to login to your ServiceReef account and click My Dashboard at the top of the page next to your photo.

Select Opportunities on the lefthand side and Upcoming Opportunities (or Past Opportunities if you are posting a story for a Past Opportunity). Select the Opportunity in the middle of the page (see below).

Select View Opportunity Page.

Once you are on the Opportunity page, select Stories (middle of page).

Select Share Your Story.

You can give your story a title, write your story and upload images. You will notice tips for titling your story, for sharing a good story and for uploading images on the right side in blue.

Once you have shared all of your story, select Share Your Story at the bottom of the page.

Admin Notes:

Stories shared by trip participants can be viewed here (see below). Team --> Stories

With each Opportunity you have the choice to decide if Stories need to be approved or not before they are published. This setting is located under General --> General.

Story Distribution

Profile Pages

Each individual using the ServiceReef platform has their own personal profile page.  When an individual shares a story from any trip and from any organization, these stories aggregate into their personal profile page.

Team Blog

ServiceReef offers a tool that builds a blog for each team.  As team participants share stories (before, during, or after the trip), these stories aggregate to a team blog.  Each organization can use an HTML export widget to embed these stories on their own website.

Donor Notices

It is critical to keep donors updated on the investments they have made in people and organizations.  ServiceReef will notify donors automatically when anyone they have supported has shared a story.  Team leaders should constantly encourage their team participants to share stories so their donors stay engaged.

Organization Blog

Similar to the team blog, all stories from every trip for an organization aggregate to one centralized organization blog.  There is an HTML export widget available for these stories as well.

Fundraising Pages

Each participant has their own personal fundraising page.  Stories shared by any team member display on an individual's personal fundraising page.  ServiceReef chose to include not only the individual's story but the team's stories to help engage the donors and potential future donors.

Other Points

Story Approval

Each organization can enable story approvals so you can review and approve the story before it goes live.

Encourage Stories

We can't encourage you enough to encourage your team to share stories.  The power of a story is immeasurable.
