Donation Text and Email Communication

Organizations have the ability to edit donation help text and donation legal text in their Organization Settings, General, Preferences tab. Read more about Preferences here.

 



  • Donation Help Text - This text appears at the top of the donation page for our organization and opportunities. We see organizations utilizing this field to give clarity to their donation terms and conditions.  For example, many organizations want to note that a donation to a person is really a donation to the organization and that the organization reserves the right to do as they please with the donation once made.  This text is displayed on both the donation page (where the donor enters their credit card information and makes the donation) and the email confirmation. 
    • Example Text - "One hundred percent of all tax-deductible donations are used to help send teams to serve alongside our partners. If for any reason a team or individual team member is unable to travel, those funds will be used to support another participant or team. If you have any questions about this process please reach out to our organization at........."
  • Donation Legal Text - Optionally, enter text that you want to appear at the bottom of the donor impact report.
    • Example Text - "Your tax-deductible donation will be applied to the specific journey (mission trip) you have designated. Any excess funds, including those generated from a participant being unable to travel, will be applied to another participant or team. As such, our organization has complete discretion and control over the donated funds. If you have any questions about this process, please email........"


In addition to the text above, organizations have the ability to edit the automated notifications going out regarding Donation Receipts. 


The receipt that is emailed will vary the text based on the type of transaction that occurred. For example, the tag in the email called {DonationType} will change based on where that transaction occurred (e.g. application fee vs. donation page). To make edits to these, go to your Communications, Automated Notifications, Donations Receipts.
