Stripe Recurring Payments-Organization Level

For some donors, setting up recurring payments is a great option for ongoing financial support. In order to set this feature up at the organization level follow the steps listed here.


STEP 1

Ensure that you have a Stripe account linked to your organization. If you haven't done this yet, we recommend you set up your Stripe account and connect that Stripe account to ServiceReef before continuing. 

It is important to know the Stripe login info (email address and password) that will be used for connecting the two accounts. Creating your Stripe account should take 5 minutes or less if you have your account information.  Connecting your Stripe and ServiceReef account should take less than a minute.

STEP 2

Set up Stripe as the payment provider for the organization.

Org Settings > Integrations > Payment Providers



Advised flow:

1. On the Payment Provider Settings page select "Enable Payment vis Stripe"

2. Click on "Save Changes"

3. Click on "Connect with Stripe"

You'll be redirected to Stripe for complete the process.

On the first page you'll have to enter the Stripe account email address and click

"Continue".

Next you'll have to log-in to your Stripe account.

Now you have to choose the Stripe account you want to connect.


Stripe should recognize your existing account and have it preselected but it also provides

the option to create a new account for your ServiceReef connection.

Click "Connect"


Now follow Stripe steps and fill in the required information to set-up and connect

accounts.


STEP 3

Enable recurring donations for your organization (If you would like to allow donors to create ongoing donations)

Org Settings > General > Preferences > Opportunity Settings section > "Enable recurring

donations on opportunities?" checkbox



Organization Admins can manage all recurring donation on the Donations and Payments page

*Note: Only Admins with "Finances" permission can access this function 

Org Settings > Financial > Donations & Payments > Actions dropdown for a donation >

"Manage Recurring Payment"



The Admin will be directed to a new page in a new tab > "Manage Recurring Donation". Here you are able to update credit card information or cancel a recurring donation.


Additionally, Organization Admins can also manage recurring donations through the link in the email notification

they receive each time a payment is made for a recurring donation.


In the email, the Manage Recurring Donation“ button is available and directs to the "Manage Recurring Donation“ page. Lastly, Organization Admins are able to manage through your Stripe account (Subscriptions page)
