Coupons

Coupons or Promo Codes can be created at the Organization Level or at the Opportunity Level. Coupons/Promo Codes created at the Organization Level can be used for any Opportunity, whereas Coupons/Promo Codes created at the Opportunity Level will be used for the specific Opportunity only. 

These Coupons/Promo Codes can be used for a variety of purposes, such as: Leaders who get a free application, a promotion given to a certain number of participants (say the first 50 participants to register), a specific participant or any other time when you may need to provide a discount off the application, the Opportunity cost or both of these.

At the Organization Level, go to Financial>Coupons>Add Promo Code:

Next, you will be able to determine the Coupon Type:

Application - Application coupon will be applied only to the application fee

Fundraising - Fundraising coupon will provide a discount on the fundraising part of the Opportunity

Both - Both will be applied to the application fee and the fundraising budget simultaneously

A Name, Code (one that has not been used previously), a Discount $ or %, and the option to put in an Expiration Date and Number of Uses.
