How to Accomplish Family Fundraising

ServiceReef focuses on individual participants being able to fundraise for their upcoming Opportunities. However, we are encountering times when families would like to fundraise together. With our current software, there are ways to accomplish this! An organization admin or team admin will need to do, adjust each participant's fundraising amount in the family. Let's dive into this to explore how to accomplish this.

You will want to go to the Opportunity that the participants are currently approved for. Once there, go to Team and Participants. From there, you will select the blue Actions button on the right side next to the participant who you'd like to change the amount for.

Example: A family of three are going on an Opportunity that they each need to fundraise $525 for. This family would like to fundraise with one page and have decided that they are going to use the Mom's fundraising page. We would want to change the Mom's fundraising amount to $1,575 and the other two family members to $0.

Then the Mom would want to edit her individuals fundraising page who now has the $1,575 goal to reflect that she is raising funds for the whole family. See here how to do this if you're unsure: Personal Fundraising Pages. We would also recommend that the other family members edit their fundraising pages to reflect that they would like donations to go through the Mom's page.

If funds make their way to other family members (ex. a donation comes in for the child instead of through the Mom), you can easily move those funds: Participant Management Page Overview

Additionally, you are able to provide a re-direct for participants fundraising pages who are using a "family fundraising" method. To do this, select the participant in the Opportunity page, scroll down to Fundraising and put a link in to the family member's page they are using to fundraise.
