Cloning an Opportunity

You’re about to invest some significant time, if you haven’t already, setting up a short term trip to your specifications. You’re becoming more efficient already using the ServiceReef platform but wouldn’t it just be nice if you could simply clone trips that you’ve already set up?  Well, it’s literally that simple.  Go to your trips list and clone ANY of your previous trips.  ServiceReef will bring over all of your trips information obviously removing certain things like participants, donors, and trip specific data.

PRO TIP – many organizations will set up various trips as templates and clone from those templates.  For example, you could set up a High School International Template, Domestic Template, etc.

If your Opportunity was not published, was cancelled or postponed and you'd like to clone it...good news, you still can!

Under the Filter by status, you can select other Opportunity Statuses. You will then click the blue Actions button on the right beside the Opportunity you'd like to clone and select Clone this Opportunity. The cloned Opportunity will show up in Draft Status.

After you have located the Opportunity you plan to clone, select Actions on the right side. Then select Clone this opportunity.

Next, you will want to hit Clone.

You did it! You've cloned your Opportunity. The name will appear as the original Opportunity name - COPY. You will want to rename the Opportunity, and make the edits you see fit. You will walk through setting up an Opportunity just like you normally would, but all of your information from the Opportunity that you cloned it from will now be here.

*NOTE* If you have made changes to your Tasks or Forms at an Organization level since your original Opportunity, you will need to make the edits on the Opportunity level as well with your cloned Opportunity.

*NOTE* If you do not want the URL to have the original trip name, please place that trip you are cloning into "Private" prior to cloning it. This will ensure that the Opportunity name of the original Opportunity does not show up in the URL of your copied/cloned Opportunity.
